Doctor Who, The Show

Shadowbricks

Doctor Who is a British science-fiction television programme  produced by the BBC from 1963 to the present day. The programme shows the adventures of The Doctor, a Time Lord— a space and time-travelling humanoid alien. He explores the universe in his TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimensions in Space), a sentient time-travelling space ship. Its exterior appears as a blue British police box, which was a common sight in Britain in 1963 when the series first aired. Along with a succession of companions, the Doctor combats a variety of foes while working to save civilisations and help people in need.

Although, the story of it being created long ago, the television series started in 2005. The actors who played The Doctor are Peter Capaldi (12 Doctor) Matt Smith (11 Doctor), David Tennant (10 Doctor) and Christopher Eccleston (9 Doctor).

Thoughts on: Planet of the Dead

Gallifreyan Ramblings

There’s one reason why I adore this story, and that’s Lady Christina de Souza. She’s amazing. I just can’t help being absolutely taken with her every time I watch this episode, making an otherwise mediocre episode hugely enjoyable and highly rewatchable. I’m actually serious; Michelle Ryan is the only reason I like this episode. She’s the difference between this episode being a poor story and a good story. Lady Christina was a self-confident, outgoing, sexy, feisty, assertive aristocrat, and her partnership with the Tenth Doctor made for wonderfully entertaining viewing. An atypical companion, not conforming to the traditional “ask questions, help out and look pretty” archetype (apart from the looking pretty bit), she was very much comfortable being in control and telling the Doctor what to do. She was very much the Doctor’s equal, not his subservient assistant, and she wasn’t content to let the Doctor tell her what to do…

INFINITE WHONIVERSES- The Centurions of Time

Mr. Tiglet's Blog

This Episode of Infinite Whoniverses was supposed to end the First Series. Well, it didn’t!

iw-14th doctor icm 4 cot

It has gone through a few changes since then. It was supposed to be second in the Third Series, I even had the Leather Jacket Marjorie Lewis gave me as the ‘costume’ for the 14th NeoGallifreyan Doctor, but when I heard she had passed away last week, I just couldn’t finish the story.  Dr. Rrr’s chocolate Invasion had been the first completed, so just switched the order round. I guess leaving it for a week made a difference, as I‘ve changed a few details, as well as ironing out the Grand Masterplan. I established in Episode 7 of Triumph of the Daleks that the STARDIS wasn’t just randomly hopping between universes and Alternate Realities just for fun, or sight-seeing, but was on a mission for Rassilon. I thought it was time a few, but…

If You Want to Destroy My Sweater

Anonymous Donut

We’re planning a Fan Fest at our main library, and I’m on tap to give panels on Doctor Who and drawing manga. And as much as I should be focusing on the manga panel, I’m all sorts of hyped about my Doctor Who one. We’ll be handing out badges for our favorite Doctor (that I’ve designed!). I’m hoping people will cosplay as their favorite Doctor – I’m sure I’ll find a lot of Tens and Elevens. At one event we had a Second Doctor (awesome)! I myself am no stranger to cosplay. My first year at the library, I dressed up as the Tenth Doctor. Nobody recognized me. Twice more I’ve gone as the Fourth Doctor. Hardly anyone recognized me (they did keep asking if I was cold, though) but a handful did. And I went to Motor City Comic Con a few years back as the Third Doctor (with…
